The show must go on-line!
In celebration of World Theatre Day on March 27th, the American High School Theatre Festival (AHSTF) and the International Collegiate Theatre Festival (ICTF) are excited to announce our first virtual one-act festival!
Throughout the pandemic, we have seen our high schools and colleges become quite creative in getting their work out to peers and the greater community. Often, this has taken the form of shorter productions viewed online rather than in person.
We wish to promote these efforts and are seeking submissions of original one-act plays or short dance pieces that are recorded for online streaming. We will promote them to the larger AHSTF and ICTF theatre community to bring attention to the exciting work your programs are producing. Each will be available through our websites from March 27th through April 4th.
This is a wonderful opportunity for your students and program to gain exposure and receive virtual applause for all that they do. Note that while participation is limited to our alumni schools and current traveling programs, we will be sharing the festival with all of our contacts and through our social media channels.
Schools who have participated in either ICTF or AHSTF, or have travel planned in 2021 or 2022. Others will be considered if space allows.
We will be accepting links to recorded videos of your production, which will be presented on our websites for public viewing.
You may submit a link:
1. Directly to your video via YouTube or Vimeo
2. To a download of your video which we will upload
If you submit a link directly to the video on YouTube or Vimeo make sure that "likes" and "commenting" are enabled for the audience to applaud your work!
Work must be original or the intellectual property of participating faculty or member of the company. Work may not have been created before the start of the 2019-2020 school year. No use of copyrighted music, logos, or names/franchises. The production may have been workshopped or previously performed.
Every production must be able to be fully performed in 5-25 minutes.
Your choice - Comedy, drama, mystery, musical, children — but no monologues or musical solo pieces.
There is no fee for entry and no charge to audiences for viewing. This is a free festival!
Submissions due by March 10th at midnight!
The videos will be live on our festival webpage from March 27th through April 4th.
